The Village of Staravina – Село Старавина
Thе village of Staravina located in the Mariovo region in southwestern Macedonia is about 51 kilometers east of Bitola northern slopes of the Nidze Mountains. The Nidze Mountains form part of the border with Greece and the highest peak is Kajmakčalan (Kajmakchalan). Wonderful stone architecture in a picturesque setting of rolling hills. There is also a church here dedicated to St. Mary.
This village is one of the handful of villages in the Mariovo region that features remarkable stone architecture such as Zovik, Gradešnica and Rapeš (Rapesh). According to page 55 of the Macedonia Census in 2002, this village had 11 households and 23 inhabitants1.
